Wonderful Workshop with Debra Fritts for the NMPCA
We headed to one of the most beautiful spots on the planet and it just so happens it’s in my own backyard, well about 15 minutes away that is. Yes I’m talking about Ghost Ranch here in Northern New Mexico just beyond Abiquiu.
It was a wonderful workshop with the NMPCA. This year we were blessed beyond measure to have Debra Fritts do the annual workshop for us. I had studied under her keen eye for over a year when she offered classes at her studio here in Abiquiu, but it had been about a year since I was blessed with her insight and gracious teaching. The workshop ran over a weekend September 11, 12, and wrapped up on the 13th, 2015.
Debra is a figurative sculptor who is known for unique surface treatment. She managed to cram building a bust and the surface treatment all into one weekend. Once again I learned so much and brought my piece home to fire it and finish it.
